How to spend nothing, on purpose.
Almost everything EduSync does costs the school nothing, whatever the volume. The exceptions are small and predictable, and every one is avoidable. None of it means sending less.

Free-channel reach.
The share of your parents reachable by the app, the browser or email. Above 90% you will almost never see a variable line on your invoice. Below 70%, SMS starts doing work it was never meant to do. Everything below is a way of moving that one number.

Get parents to install early.
A parent who installs in February is free to reach for every year their child is at the school. A parent who never installs is the one you end up paying to text.
- Week one: send the invitation from the schoolParents install things their school asked them to install. A note from the principal outperforms anything we could write.
- Week two: put something worth having behind itThe term calendar, the fixtures, the fee statement. An app with a reason to open on day one gets kept.
- Weeks three and four: chase the list, not the averageThe console names the families who have not installed. Ten minutes at the school gate beats another whole-school reminder.
Nothing here asks you to send less.
Send to the grade, not the school
A Grade 5 camp notice does not need 1 247 people. Irrelevant notices train parents to swipe the next one away. Segments are free and unlimited.
Keep “critical” for emergencies
Critical skips the wait and adds SMS to everyone at once. Right for a lockdown, wrong for a civvies day.
Put the deadline in the first line
“Payment due Friday 14 August” as the opening line removes a whole reminder from the term.
Let email do the chasing
Email reaches the parent who did not open the push two hours ago, and costs nothing. Leave the fall-through on.
Link, do not attach
A twelve-page PDF is slow on a rural connection and eats storage. Publish to the noticeboard and send the link.
Send at 06:30, not 22:00
Schedule the night before. The notice has the whole day to be acted on before anything else is tried.

The only maintenance it needs.
| Task | Time |

| Re-import from SA-SAMS, so new enrolments land automatically | 5 min |
| Work the unreachable list, usually under ten families | 10 min |
| Check free-channel reach has not slipped below 90% | 2 min |
| Archive last term’s notices to stay inside storage | 3 min |
